THE MOMENT I heard I could get the Covid-19
vaccine, I jumped on it. I was really wanting
the vaccine, I am a vaccine believer! The vaccine
may not prevent you from getting the virus, but
I know it will help you so you don't get as sick
as you could get. And we all have seen Covid is
a very dangerous virus and we could die from
it. I work on the front lines, and I need all the
protections I can get to help me get through
this—especially when we have not gotten all
the protections we need from our employers.

I DECIDED to get the
vaccine to protect
my husband who has
comorbidities and
to protect all of my
family since I work
in the hospital where
I can be exposed
to Covid-19.

WE HAVE been at zero percent
capacity in our hospitals in
Kern County. As a frontline
nurse, each day I go to work
hoping to help heal my patients
and keep them safe. I wash and
sanitize my hands until they
crack. I wear layers of protective
gear. When not at work, I avoid
large gatherings, I practice
physical distancing, and wear
a mask. What more can I do?
I did it. I got both doses of
the Covid vaccine to protect
my community, my family,
and myself. Onward to a
healthier tomorrow!
