N urses envision a society that guarantees a good life for everyone. In today's world, the billionaire class has rigged the economy and political system against working people. We work ourselves to death as medical bills and student debt pile up, while housing security and a dignified retirement slip further out of reach. As the rich get richer, our patients and communities face decreasing life expec- tancies and declining prospects for the next generation. But it doesn't have to be this way. There are enough wealth and resources in our society to ensure every human being can thrive. We can build a future where all of us have safe, affordable housing and union jobs that allow us to support our families while having time to rest, play, and be with our loved ones. A future where we all have a right to live in a healthy environment, work in safe work- places, and receive high-quality health care when we need it. All of this is possible if we use our collective power to stop billionaires and corporations from taking over our government and hoarding the planet's wealth and resources. We call on working people across the country and around the world to stand in solidarity to demand a healthy society based on these essential rights and freedoms: The right to HEALTH The right to SAFE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING The right to a UNIONIZED, LIVING-WAGE JOB The right to a GOOD EDUCATION Freedom from CORPORATE DOMINATION Freedom to MOVE AND THE FREEDOM TO STAY IN THE COMMUNITIES PEOPLE SEE AS HOME The right to a HEALTHY PLANET The right to CARE Freedom to LIVE SAFELY AND PEACEFULLY Freedom to ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF LIFE .
