Moviegoers around the country lucky enough
to snag tickets to see SiCKO on opening night,
June 29, found CNA/NNOC registered nurses
out in full force, sporting their special SiCKO
scrubs. From Torrance, Calif. to Raleigh, N.C.,
from Chicago to St. Louis to San Antonio,
Texas, nurses brought coworkers, kids, spouses, and friends to see the movie, distribute flyers, and start a dialogue with the American
public about why CNA/NNOC's vision of guaranteed healthcare on the single-payer model

is the best cure for all the tearjerker stories Michael Moore told
in his documentary.
In Cary, N.C., the 30 RNs leafleting the
crowd quickly ran out of flyers and the theater
helped them out by making 200 more copies.
At the Nashville event, a nurse-and-doctor
couple drove three hours just to see the movie.
And in Orange County, Calif., many of the
moviegoers stopped to share their own
tragedies – including one couple who said

they regularly cross the border to Tijuana,
Mexico for their healthcare and could easily
belong in the film. Everywhere, nurses reported sold-out crowds.
All told, nurses networked with and signed
up thousands of audience members and other
nurses to join the fight for guaranteed healthcare. And that was just opening night.
