and learn about the RN's unique ability to be the
driving force in fighting for universal and uniform
healthcare, and for disaster preparedness and
response standards. These standards include the
institution of a stronger national disaster preparedness and response network through direct
participation in the RN Response Network (RNRN), a project of the
California Nurses Foundation working in coordination with
CNA/NNOC. These standards also entail the adoption of the "National
Nursing Shortage Reform and Patient Advocacy Act," sponsored by
CNA/NNOC, which includes the RN right to advocate in the exclusive
interests of patients without fear of retaliation. Instructors: Hedy
