24 "You can be disciplined and/or fined by CNA/ NNU according to its constitution and bylaws." Unlike management, CNA/NNU does not use disciplinary measures (or fines) to control its membership. The bylaws are voted on by elected RN delegates at the CNA/NNOC triennial conventions. CNA/NNOC and NNU are the fastest-growing and most powerful direct-care RN professional organizations in the nation. CNA is more than 100 years old and has a constitution and bylaws like all well- established organizations. Myth #12 Truth: "CNA/NNU will make unwanted visits to your home during the election campaign." CNA/NNU is run by direct-care RNs who know the concerns of their colleagues. RNs want their privacy protected and, as a result, an organizational policy was established prohibiting unwanted visits to RNs' homes. Federal labor law stipulates that management provide a list of RNs with names and addresses after RNs have signed authorization cards stating they want CNA/NNU representation and a petition for an election is filed with the National Labor Relations Board. This enables CNA/NNU to provide RNs with information and to ensure that the list of eligible RN voters is accurate. It is meant for CNA/NNU to have some access to RNs to offset the 24/7, round-the-clock anti-union campaign by administration and its anti-union consultants. Myth #13 Truth:
